For over four decades Progressive Technology has established an enviable reputation within sub-contract machining circles for producing small batch complex precision parts inside incredibly short lead-times. Delivering this level of service whilst maintaining Progressive’s aggressive ongoing growth brings several challenges; space, investment in plant and personnel to name but a few.
In Q2 2019 an industrial unit adjacent to the recently acquired Unit J on Progressive’s Hambridge Lane was put up for sale; Ross Pinchin’s entrepreneurial radar immediately identified the opportunity, within months Unit H was purchased, thus adding a further 10,000 square feet of production space to the Progressive Technology Group.
By Q4 2019, Unit H had been completely refurbished and kitted out with a combination of new and existing plant; including four new EDM wire & two spark erosion machines plus one rumble finisher. Progressive’s continued metal additive manufacturing growth is now supported by unit H’s dedicated CNC machining, de-burring and finishing operations.
Representing an investment of over £200,000 this acquisition significantly increased manufacturing capacity allowing Progressive Technology to seamlessly develop its aerospace business ambitions without compromising service levels to its premium motorsport clientele.
