Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
Our structural assessment includes a non-destructive testing (NDT) technique, better known as liquid penetrant inspection (LPI), employed to locate and identify flaws such as cracks, porosity, laps, seams and other surface irregularities in a component.
Visual inspection is then performed by the inspector under ultraviolet or white light and depending on the type of penetrant used, fluorescent or visible colour contrast exposes any surface irregularities.
LPI can be applied to ferrous, non-ferrous and plastics materials.
Progressive Technology offers dye penetrant inspection on-site and is suitable for the inspection of batch quantities of machined parts, or components.
