5-Axis Machinists / Setters / Operators

A first choice supplier to the Motorsport industry, Advanced Machining is recruiting 5-Axis machinists / setters / operators for both day and night shifts providing exciting opportunities to join this growing team and business.

Advanced Machining operates in a state-of-the-art facility in Newbury, Berkshire and offers a great opportunity for any prospective candidate looking to further their career in the field of engineering. 

Role

We are looking for experienced 5 axis machinists / setters / operators/ programmers who are comfortable working to tight deadlines and complex customer specifications. Experience of HyperMill and Vericut software as well as Heidenhain controllers is necessary.

Duties will include, but are not limited to, machining / setting / operating / programming of complex components to be manufactured on our fleet of over thirty 5-axis machining centres. We predominantly operate Mikron equipment and are constantly upgrading to the latest machinery to ensure our customers receive the highest quality of components.

You must be able to read and understand technical specifications, identify tooling, work holding methods and devices for producing the components whilst communicating with the team leader and managers when additional equipment is needed to fulfil the job. 

Working closely with the materials and quality teams to ensure traceability is maintained throughout the manufacturing process is critical in ensuring our customers receive the highest quality component. This includes reporting any non-conforming product or equipment to the necessary individuals. 

The Individual

Flexibility, teamwork, and an enthusiastic approach to learning is a prerequisite of this role. Working with motorsport, aerospace and renewable energy customers, adaptability to the style of work is critical.

A disciplined approach to manufacture, being capable of working to the highest standards, and behaving with integrity whilst working without close supervision, the successful candidate will take responsibility for their involvement in the process.
